Tips for a Spa-like Washroom
At Tuck, our goal is to make all the spaces we touch evoke inspiration, joy, and relaxation. One often-overlooked place where you can easily access this sense of zen (sometimes it’s one of the few places we can be alone!) is the bathroom. We loved working on this project to create a spa-like bathroom for our wonderful clients, Gillian and Colin—both doctors raising two kids—who dreamed of a relaxing environment to unwind after their busy days. With a few thoughtful and impactful updates, we transformed their bathroom into a serene sanctuary. Here are some of our top tips for creating a spa-like oasis right in your own home.

Our Top 3 Tips For A Spa-Like Washroom:
1. Soothing Color Palette:
Shown above is Cole & Son’s Camellia wallpaper in Coral & Duck Egg on Eau du Nil & Benjamin Moore, Dark Olive 2140-30 paint.
Use calm, neutral tones like soft blues, greens, and earthy beige to create a tranquil atmosphere. In this bathroom, we combined a soft floral wallpaper and dark olive paint to create a sophisticated, cohesive design. The floral wallpaper adds a fresh, airy ambiance, while the dark olive paint provides depth and richness, balancing the vibrant patterns and transforming the bathroom into a serene oasis.
2. Soft Textiles:
Use plush towels, fluffy bath mats, and cozy robes to add warmth and comfort to the space. There’s nothing like wrapping yourself in luxurious textures to invite that spa-like feeling into your everyday routine. Also add functional decor to your space. Things like soap and towels add both practicality and a touch of style to the space!
Bonus tip: Being intentional about how you style these items can make all the difference. We love using trays and baskets to display rolled towels and apothecary items to add to that at-home spa feeling.
3. Natural Elements:
Integrate natural features like indoor plants, wooden accents, and stone details to evoke a sense of nature and tranquility. Adding greenery to your bathroom introduces a touch of nature, which can purify the air, reduce stress, and bring a refreshing, vibrant feel to the space. That being said, one of our favourite hacks is opting for faux plants, or a combination of both real and artificial to keep the lush relaxing feel all year round without the added maintenance!
