Safely ensconced in your smartphone or iPad, we can walk through your home and Judith will make recommendations and advice to help you make your space more warm, welcoming, and beautiful. TUCK has a proven track record when it comes to offering expert advice on room layouts, furnishings, lighting, art, flooring, and paint choices. Hey, it’s what we do.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Whether you’re scheduling a virtual or in-home consult Tuck & Judith is the natural first step when considering taking on any project in your home.
Judith will offer expert advice on room layout, furnishings, lighting, art, flooring and paint choices. She’ll help you reimagine everything from a one-room makeover to an entire home. Beautiful spaces begin with a plan. And that plan will save you money.
It goes without saying that the items Judith recommends are from Tuck. We represent dozens of brands within our store and we draw from these furnishings, lighting and decor. Having said that, there are occasions when she’ll pull an item from outside Tuck if it’s the appropriate choice for your space.
During your either in-home or virtual consult, Judith will walk with you through your home, or you will walk us through with your device, focusing on the areas that require her attention. During the consult, she'll give you helpful tips and advice on how to improve each room, and will be more than happy to answer any questions you have along the way.
It’s incredible the amount of information you can receive within an hour! In order to get the most out of your consult, we recommend doing the following to prepare for your consult with Judith.
- Make a list of questions, organized by room.
- Take time to walk through your home, on your own, identifying what changes you’d like to see.
- Pick out the things that you really like and probably don’t want to change about your home. It’s easy to say what you don’t like, but selecting things you do will help Judith understand your style and needs. It’s OK to want to keep certain things!
- Identify how you envision using each area of your home.
- Think about budget. It doesn’t need to be detailed or accurate, just what you hope to spend.
- Finally, remember to be concise. It’s only an hour! Don’t try to spread too much into that hour.
These simple preparations will help to ensure you get the most out of your home consult. Remember to have a pen and paper ready to jot down any notes. Or if you’d prefer to record on your phone or camera, that’s a-okay as well!

What does it cost?
Both In-Person and Virtual Home Consults are $190 / hour for Saint John and Surrounding Area. If your home is more than a 20 minute drive from Uptown Saint John, there may be an additional travel fee. Please contact us to get a price for your area. Additional travel areas may include Grand-Bay / Westfield, Hampton. Also note, due to demand we may not be able to accommodate all virtual consults at this time. We do prioritize those living in our area first.
HOW IT WORKS
Whether you are booking an in-home or virtual consult we ask that you review all of the items above so you can get a sense of how the process works. If you’re clear on the process, fill out the form and choose the type of consult you’d like.
If you’re choosing an in-home consult our fabulous Tuck team will reach out to you to schedule a time that works for both you and Judith.
If you’re choosing a virtual consult, you might have to get over your fear that this is somehow going to be a ‘technical nightmare’. Au contraire! (If you’re reading this you obviously know how to use the internet; the rest is child’s play.) Our fabulous Tuck team will send you an email with the confirmed date and time of your virtual consult, along with simple instructions on how to make this happen. We use Google Hangouts, an easy and secure way to video chat. Don’t have a Google account? No problem! The link will still work for you!
What are the next steps?
Nearing the end of your consult there will be an opportunity to discuss next steps to get your home to where you’d like it to be. If you feel that you require further assistance and planning, you can choose to hire Judith and Tuck Interiors for additional services. There is no pressure to continue the relationship, or we are completely happy to take the relationship to the next step.

Furniture Lighting & Decor Selections
We’ll present you with an easy to understand and ready to purchase furniture, lighting, and decor package, customized to your needs and style. No shopping required!
Paint Colour & Wallpaper Selection
Recommendations for paint colours, wallpaper, or other wall treatments throughout your home. Through Tuck we represent Cole & Son Wallpaper & JF Fabrics wallpaper to name a few brand partners!
Kitchen & Bath Planning
Due to a high demand for our services right now, we have decided to reduce the amount of consulting we can offer in the kitchen or bathroom planning at present. We are not able to provide feedback on initial layouts or conceptual drawings. However, we are able to offer advice, after you have your plans in place, on lighting, decor, paint colours, - the fun bits to bring each room to life!
Floor Plans & Concept Drawings
We offer creative space planning to maximize the rooms in your home. This service can include floor plans and concept drawings to demonstrate layouts and intent. (Note: Due to a high demand for our services right now, we have decided to reduce the amount of floor plans we can offer in the kitchen or bathroom planning at present. However, we are able to offer advice, after you have your plans in place, on lighting, decor, paint colours, - the fun bits to bring each room to life!)

Comfortable? We LOVE them! There’s nothing better than being greeted by a happy fur buddy.
What should I have ready for our consult?
To get the most out of your consult, be prepared with a list of questions, a clear agenda of what you’d like to discuss, and something to write or record with.
I live outside of the greater Saint John. Is it still possible to schedule a home consult?
Unfortunately due to high demand, our in-home consultations are now limited to the greater Saint John area for the foreseeable future. Please visit our Virtual Consult page if you live outside of this region.
What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Life happens, we get it! If you need to reschedule or cancel we simply ask that you give us 24 hours notice.
Are you able/ willing to offer advice remotely using video chat or photos?
Absolutely! We always prefer to visit your home in person but if you live outside of the greater Saint John area or far away, we can happily arrange a virtual consult via video call. We can offer advice on furnishings, decor, layouts, and more.
Judith did a virtual consult for us about ways we could improve the flow of traffic into our home, and how we could better maximize our kitchen space. Within minutes she came up with a plan that literally will solve all our problems. She offered layout and design advice I had never before considered that will make a significant difference in our home. She gave us an action plan for things we could change immediately that would create a better functioning space for us and also offered us advice on what we could do down the road when time and budget permits. I honestly wish I had done this with her when we moved in! I was blown away by the experience, she is truly gifted at what she does.She had an innate sense of what would serve our family and gave us the direction we needed to move forward in our home redesign. We felt really frustrated with aspects of our home before, and we weren't sure they could be improved. Now we feel inspired and excited about putting her plans into action. This service is a bargain at twice the price, I wish I had done it sooner.
