Gus Modern and Me: A Tribute to the Gus* Jane Bi-Sectional!

Before there was TUCK Studio—before the shelves, the signage, or even a cash register—there was Gus*. And more specifically, the Jane Bi-Sectional. This sofa was my go-to choice for early clients long before I even had a studio in the basement of our home (2012!).
Back in those early days, when I was helping clients decorate their homes and businesses, Gus* was often my first recommendation. I loved that it was Canadian. I loved that it was modern without being cold—or worse, uncomfortable. And I especially loved the Jane: tufted, iconic, adaptable, and built to last. (Spoiler: it has lasted.)
In fact, three of my very first clients purchased Janes, and I’m thrilled to report that those same sofas are still going strong—two in residential homes and one in a psychologist’s office. They’ve survived toddlers-turned-teenagers, wine spills, dance parties, Zoom calls, puppies, and everything in between.
This post is a love letter to those original Jane owners. The OGs! The ones who believed in great design early on. These photos? They’re not just pretty rooms—they’re lived-in stories, snapshots of what it means when a piece of furniture becomes part of the family.
So whether it’s nestled in a cozy corner of a cabin, anchoring a minimalist living room, or making a statement in a bold office—Jane continues to show up, hold space, and look impossibly good while doing it.
Jane, you’re not just a sofa. You’re a legacy.
