Five Memorable TUCK Washrooms!
Last week, we released the third edition of our online magazine, Tuck In! This issue features Gillian Clarke and Colin Barry’s serene washroom renovation with floral wallpaper, calming paint colours, and spa-like decor. Decorating and capturing their space has inspired us to reflect on memorable Tuck Interiors bathroom makeovers of the past. Today, we’re sharing five of our all-time favourites!
The Royal Condominium Model Suite
The Royal Condominium model suite bathroom makeover photographed by Jennifer Irving.
These bathrooms had an ethereal feeling with a feather pendant light, monochromatic finishes and a dramatic sliding door that featured a photograph, taken by Sean McGrath, of one of the building’s stone carvings. Fun fact – this image is now what you see on our price tags at Tuck!
Jeff and Laura Brewer have been incredible Tuck Interiors clients for years now, and we’ve been able to help redesign not one but two of their washrooms! For their primary bathroom, they wanted to keep things spa-like, so we selected marble tile, white walls, organic wood elements, sleek fixtures, and an overall minimalist feel.
For their guest washroom, we were able to go with a completely different aesthetic to flow with the design of their ground level. In this space, we used a Fornasetti patterned wallpaper by Cole & Son, black tile and countertops, and brass lights and faucets.
If you ever visited Hopscotch’s original location, you probably also visited their washrooms. Let’s be honest, those drinks go down a little too easily! These washrooms were designed to be gender-inclusive, and it was important that they were completely contained. Each stall’s doors went all the way to the floor, and inside was a fun nod to our city with Saint John tartan wallpaper!
Side note, if you haven’t made it to the new Hopscotch, you’re missing out! Not only do they have tasty cocktails, they also now serve the most delicious food. The Sesame Crusted Tuna is a must!
A few small changes brought a touch of modernity to this historic home’s washroom while keeping true to the rest of Janet and Mark’s gorgeous home. They added new soapstone countertops, a delicate brass vanity light, and this striking Cole and Son wallpaper that is designed to mimic the look of ceramic tiles!
Bonus Bathrooms
It’s hard to narrow it down to just five, so here are a few other favourites we couldn’t help but include!
