Tuck + Gus* + Pendleton – A limited collection turned fundraiser for NBAPC (New Brunswick Aboriginal Peoples Council)

Tuck Studio is proud to be part of this collaboration with Gus* Modern and Pendleton Woolen Mills! The two companies have paired up to produce a trio of limited edition lounge chairs, all upholstered with an iconic Pendleton wool pattern.  This past week, the launch was covered in various media outlets including Design Milk.  See details here.

Just in time for our Fall Launch, Tuck has one of these limited edition ELK Chairs for you to see in person. As these chairs sold out locally, we decided to have a fundraiser around our one-and-only ELK chair; an initiative that would benefit the community and give fair and square opportunity to anyone who wants to own the chair.

RAFFLE TICKETS $25 – you could win this ELK chair while sending an Indigenous Youth to Camp!

We are going to be selling $25 raffle tickets on the ELK Chair (Value $1,995.00), and 100% of the sales will be going to the NBAPC (New Brunswick Aboriginal Peoples Council) to raise money for one Indigenous youth to attend OUTWARD BOUND CANADA 2018. It is for young adults aged 19-24 and runs for 21 days. Each year, the goal is for the youth to return home ready to take an up-front role in their school, amongst peers or within their neighbourhood and surrounding community. This course teaches advanced leadership practices, giving a new perspective on their ability to take on a global mission and leave a mark on the world at large. Their mental and physical endurance will be tested, helping them accept their limits and recognize how attitude affects performance.

To send one youth to camp for 21 days costs $3,000 – $3,500.00.   All proceeds of every ticket sold on the ELK chair will be given to NBAPC.  There is no limit on how many tickets you can buy.  The draw will take place on December 23rd, 2017 at noon.   Tickets must be purchased in store at Tuck Studio.

TERMS OF GIVEAWAY: NO REPLACEMENT OF CASH VALUE.  ELIGIBLE WITHIN NEW BRUNSWICK ONLY. THE WINNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PICK UP/DELIVERY AND ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH IT. MUST BE CLAIMED AND REMOVED FROM 122 PRINCE WILLIAM STREET PREMISES WITHIN A WEEK OF WINNING.

Funding for the OUTWARD BOUND Indigenous Youth and Adult Program is offered thanks to the generous support of individual donors, corporations and a number of dedicated foundations, providing sustainable, long term funding for the growth of Indigenous programming at Outward Bound Canada. Please see the Indigenous Programs page for more information.

ABOUT THE Gus* ELK CHAIR:

“Gus* Modern is delighted to announce a limited edition collaboration with heritage textile brand Pendleton Woolen Mills. With an outstanding legacy of manufacturing woolen fabrics and blankets in the Pacific Northwest since 1863, Pendleton Woolen Mills is recognized internationally for its graphic jacquard patterns, many of which are inspired by Indigenous and southwestern motifs. Gus* Modern has teamed up with Pendleton Woolen Mills to create a family of lounge chairs that celebrate the union of textiles and furniture.

“Fabric has a transformative effect on furniture, and vice versa,” says Amanda Schuler, co-founder of Gus*. “We love how beautifully the jacquard patterns mesh with the chairs in the collection. Both design teams had a chance to see their work in a new light. We’re very excited to present our collaboration to the public.”

The vibrant capsule collection includes a trio of iconic Gus* designs – the Elk Chair, Halifax Chair, and GT Rocker – upholstered in original Pendleton Woolen Mills fabrics. The colourful fabrics animate the mid-century modern aesthetic at the heart of the brand, igniting renewed interest in the signature lounge chairs. In fact, it was the shared love of timeless, approachable design that brought them together for this special collaboration. ”
