It is with immense pride and joy that we can now share the stunning cover of the September 2024 issue of Canadian House & Home Magazine. To our delight, we were thrilled to see the painting “Properly Accessorized,” the artwork of our very own artist, Robert Moore, front and center. Furthermore, this incredible honour is made even more special by the fact that it’s ensconced in the beautiful home of our dear friend and esteemed colleague, Susan Drover of Sam Design in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Susan and I have been close friends and steadfast supporters of each other for many years. Additionally, our businesses share a common ethos, and we have always found inspiration in each other's work. Moreover, Susan's keen eye for design and her unwavering support for the arts have made her a true patron of Robert's work. Susan's decision to place Robert's painting front and center in her home, now featured on the cover of such a prestigious magazine, means the world to us.

Our Appreciation for Susan Drover

I am deeply proud of Susan for achieving this remarkable milestone. Her design, which perfectly complements Robert's painting, has captured the attention of a national audience and brought a piece of her shared creative vision into homes across the country. Overall, this cover is a celebration of art, friendship, and the magic that happens when two creative minds come together, hers and Robert’s.

Thus, we encourage you to follow literally everything that Susan Drover does with her SAMily and her business & life partner, Bert Ings. Additionally, she recently just opened, Dvele Inn, arguably the most beautiful boutique Inn in Canada here on the East Coast in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Moreover, once again making the cover of another national publication – The Edit Magazine – Susan’s designs and spaces she creates are all  drool-worthy.  Susan, you are such an inspiration and a driving force.  Bravo, my friend! (Judith)

Shop the 'Luxury Goods' Collection by Robert Moore!

About the Luxury Goods Collection:  For many, one of the most problematic features of Christianity -- a religion whose prophet owned effectively nothing -- is its historical tolerance of wealth among the pious. Apart from contemporary (predominantly American) preachers who celebrate personal wealth as a mark of God's approval, I've always found the portraits of the Dutch Golden Age (think Rembrandt, Hals, de Hooch) particularly suggestive in this regard. The proud Protestants in these portraits, complete with their jewel-encrusted crucifixes, are anxious to have their private wealth immortalized as the material expression their righteousness.  How passing strange is that?!  Therefore if you ever needed proof that cognitive dissonance is a thing -- that we humans are 'past masters' at living out contradictions -- you have it in these portraits. - Robert Moore

Finally, to see some more of Robert's artwork in live spaces, be sure to flip through the second issue of our online TUCK IN decorating magazine.
