• BOUTIQUE HOSPITALITY IN UPTOWN SAINT JOHN, NB •

ORANGE CRUSH

Beautifully Designed for Guests Staying a Little Longer.

THE RESIDENCE

Built in 1891 in the Queen Anne Revival style, Orange Crush was born in the years following Saint John’s Great Fire, part of the city’s remarkable story of rebuilding and renewal.

Today, the residence has been carefully restored and reimagined, combining a deep respect for its history while embracing the comforts of modern hospitality. Original character remains at the heart of the experience; soaring ceilings, beautiful crown mouldings, generous rooms and layers of old and new living comfortably together.

We believe a temporary stay shouldn’t feel temporary. Curated furnishings, local artwork and thoughtful details throughout create a stay designed to feel both elevated and deeply personal. Special touches include access to a private backyard, a propane fireplace in the living room, a dedicated dressing room, and ‘The Snug’ for work or intimate quiet evenings.

JUDITH'S ETHOS

"Orange Crush grew from a lifetime of creating spaces for other people. With this home, I wanted to create a space entirely informed by decades of design work, countless boutique hotel stays, and most especially, my deep love for this city, especially its unique and vibrant uptown. After years as a guest in beautiful places around the world, it struck me that the stays I remembered most are the ones that felt personal; places where someone clearly cared. Located in the neighbourhood I celebrate and cherish, Orange Crush is intended to manifest exactly that. Every detail is intentional. Every finish, every colour, every object designed to foster a sense of welcome and place."

- Judith Mackin

WHY WE CREATED IT

Orange Crush aims to create a space that feels ‘collected’ rather than furnished, layered as opposed to assembled – more like a stay in an interesting someone’s beautiful home as opposed to landing in an accommodation (you know, those rooms designed for everyone yet somehow, no one). I want each arrival to, in some sense, feel like a return, the very best of both home and away.

Whether you’re here for work, for rest, for relocation or simply to experience Saint John from a special vantage, my hope is simple: that you feel looked after, even cherished.
