Since graduated from NSCAD in 1999 my artistic investigations probe the complexities of contemporary life. My projects manifest themselves in a wide range of mediums, including drawing, painting, printmaking, video, performance, installations and politics. I’ve been writing almost daily email to the Prime Minister if Canada since 2001, I’ve collected and photographed thousands of found Tim Horton coffee cups, traveled across the country in a performance art alter-ego called Everyday Goalie, create paintings and prints direct from manhole covers and ran against Justin Trudeau in the 2015 federal election.

Map Paintings, my most recent body of work, are derived from Google Maps locations. Selected geographic areas from Saint John and surrounding areas are paired with a word or phrase which is integrated into the texture and pattern of the painted map image. Through these works I attempt to draw connections between physical places with less tangible thoughts and memories, using a colourful and playful palette to emphasize form, composition and pattern.
