Port City Five: Nightlife by TUCK!

Nightlife in Uptown Saint John can be loads of fun if you know where to go! Luckily, the TUCK team has put together a five-step process to ensure you get the most out of your nights on the town.

Step 1:  DRINK

Go out for a drink. Where? We recommend HopScotch Whisky Bar. We’ve recently collaborated with Holly and Ken with the design of the space, check out the before and after transformation! 

We asked Hopscotch team member Dan Vienneau for his top three recommendations for drinks, here they are!

The Suffering Bastard
Gin, Bourbon, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, ginger beer, lime wedge. 

Classic Whisky Sour
Bourbon, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, egg white, cherry. 

Jack, Coke & Peanuts
Tennessee Whiskey, peanut orgeat, Cola, roasted peanuts. 

Head up to Hopscotch to enjoy good drinks and better company.

Step 2:  EAT

Go out for dinner. We would recommend starting at the Saint John Ale House. Their menu consists of delicious dishes made from locally sourced ingredients.

Apps:
Hand Wrapped Maple Bacon Scallops
Signature Crab and Spinach Dip

Mains:
Thirty Five Day Dry Aged Rib Steak – Aged in House and The accompaniment changes with seasons
Legendary English Style Fish and Chips – Hand Battered Bay of Fundy Haddock paired up with Fresh Hand Cut Fries and Jesse’s House Made Tartar Sauce
Slipp Farms Organic Cheese Burger – Cooked to Order the way you like, topped with Armadale Cheese with a splash of our Tangy Burger Sauce, fresh toppings and served on a Sweet Potato Bun

Dessert:
White chocolate panna cotta – chocolate,peanut butter‏ mousse
Chocolate guiness cake – topped with whiskey caramel

All of their Food Offerings are made in house and unique to SJAH

For Drinks:
They focus on Local and Canadian Wide Wines and a continuing focus on a constantly evolving Beer List: From Moosehead and Hammond River locally and Across Canada from Garrison Brewery in Halifax to Phillips brewery in BC and everything in between.
