Home at Last! A Before & After Reveal of Amanda & Adam Hoirch’s Rothesay Home!

Usually we don’t meet our clients until we visit their home for a home consult. For this project, it’s safe to say we knew the clients very well. Amanda is Josh’s sister! She and her husband, Adam, recently moved back to Rothesay after living first in Thunder Bay and then North Bay. Finally, after years of wishing, an opportunity presented itself for them to move back to New Brunswick and put down roots in their beloved hometown.

“Less than a year before our move to New Brunswick, we began to worry we
wouldn’t be able to find a home before the move. After months of deflating house
hunting from afar, Adam received a text message from his late friend’s father
Stephen Willis. Stephen mentioned that he and his wife Judith were moving and
wondered if we’d like to see pictures of the house. Adam and I were over the moon;
we had been to the house previously and were already in love. We sincerely couldn’t (and still cannot) believe our luck, it exceeded every expectation we had for our home.

Buying this home from Stephen and Judith was the most incredible
experience. They are the most thoughtful and generous people; they brought us
through and showed us every inch of the house, they allowed our contractor to start prepping for construction while they were still living in the home, they left dishes for us and soap and hand towels in every bathroom for the workers. It was evident they loved this home and they were relieved it was going to someone they loved.” – Amanda 

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]With such a strong connection to the home and the previous owners, we wanted to honour the house and preserve its features. We made some adjustments to better suit Adam and Amanda’s lifestyle but tried to preserve the key elements as much as we could.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

“I was overjoyed when Amanda told me they finally found a house! They had been searching for so long, and to not only find a home, but one that they share such a deep personal connection is incredible. Amanda shared the photos with me, and I immediately fell in love. I was taken by the beautiful vaulted wood ceiling, expansive rooms, fireplace, and a picturesque view through large floor to ceiling windows. One of my first thoughts was ‘where’s my room?’

I’m so thankful to Amanda & Adam for including me in this makeover, although I don’t know if I ever really gave them a choice… It was amazing to have a hand in creating what I hope will be their forever home!” – Josh
