From the Archives: Home office turned nursery! Before & After!
We dug deep into the archives and found this nursery before & after! Back in 2014, Sean & Carrie McGrath approached us to help turn their home office into a nursery for their soon to be born baby! It’s hard to believe that baby Jack is a baby no more and has certainly outgrown this room. Nevertheless, we still LOVE the design and couldn’t resist sharing it again.

The goal for this room was to create a cute, but not too cute, nursery for baby Jack. Sean & Carrie wanted the space to be beautiful and fun. A room where they would enjoy spending time. The only must have was a teal rabbit shirt which Carrie had purchased for Jack before he was born.

As soon as the room was free of Sean & Carrie’s home office equipment and their sauna (no that’s not a typo… keep scrolling for the before!) the walls got a fresh coat of Benjamin Moore Hazy Skies OC-48 with a bright accent wall in Benjamin Moore Bahaman Sea Blue 2055-40.

Water Colour by Casile Hayward, a friend of Carrie’s brother. Inspired by the shirt which Carrie purchased for Jack before he was born.

There’s the sauna! While we’re sure it was lovely to have at one point, it wasn’t high on the must have list for Baby Jack.

The closet became a change station. Some discrete wall shelves were installed to the right for Jack’s clothes, within arms reach from the change table. By removing the closet doors and trims, this became an extension of the nursery rather than a separate space.
Carrie found this change table and with a few adjustments and the addition of some Through The Wood Knobs from Anthropologie, it was made into a cute, but not too cute, changing table for Jack. Cushions: Areaware Fauna Pug and Fauna Pico Squirrel cushions designed by Ross Menuez.
