A Mid-Century Makeover! Shawn Hingley’s Before & After Reveal!
Shawn’s home makeover is near and dear to our hearts for a few reasons.
a) Shawn took an average bungalow and transformed it into a mid-century inspired gem.
b) He was making a fresh start in a home with his three daughters and knew exactly what he wanted.
c) He had many parts of the house design already figured out long before he engaged us, so our role was really just to decorate this incredible new space with his own furnishings, décor and art mixed in with a few new recommendations from Tuck! Yes, please!

Often people think that by hiring our team, you have to hire us to do the entire project. This is simply not the case. As noted above, Shawn had the major parts of kitchen, bathroom and bedroom design completely figured out before he got in touch with us. We also knew that he is an avid collector of MCM (Mid-Century Modern), and with that, we had the role (and wonderful opportunity!) of mixing some of his own furnishings in with our recommendations!
Tearing walls down, replacing windows, and generally exercising a great eye, Shawn has managed to turn this house into a family home full of light, space, and comfort for him and his three daughters.

Shawn is a big music lover and concert go-er! As a result, he had some great poster art from Pearl Jam and The White Stripes, boasting strong graphics and vivid colour. Knowing these would be incorporated into his home, we restricted the furniture and décor to neutral fabrics, finishes and restrained tones. Also, because of all the natural light, plants were a must!
Our brand partner, Gus*, was the perfect fit for Shawn’s home because of their mid-century aesthetic.

As mentioned, we had no role in the kitchen design, so we are happy to toot someone else’s horn – and WOW – we are swooning over this stunning kitchen! The work by Nathan’s Custom Cabinets is truly a work of art! We simply added a bit of lighting, seating and décor to finish it off.

Design-wise, this room was essentially a blank slate. All we had to work around was the fireplace, which was perfect! Shawn had the gorgeous MCM console and coffee table and the side chair and we simply just added more Gus*, plants, lighting and décor to complete this den!
