18 Jun From the Archives: Home office turned nursery! Before & After!
We dug deep into the archives and found this nursery before & after! Back in 2014, Sean & Carrie McGrath approached us to help turn their home office into a nursery for their soon to be born baby! It’s hard to believe that baby Jack is a baby no more and has certainly outgrown this room. Nevertheless, we still LOVE the design and couldn’t resist sharing it again.

The goal for this room was to create a cute, but not too cute, nursery for baby Jack. Sean & Carrie wanted the space to be beautiful and fun. A room where they would enjoy spending time. The only must have was a teal rabbit shirt which Carrie had purchased for Jack before he was born.
Thank you to Sean & Carrie for allowing us help with such a special makeover!

There’s the sauna! While we’re sure it was lovely to have at one point, it wasn’t high on the must have list for Baby Jack.

Featured: Sean & Carrie found this vintage metal & wood stool at a local second hand shop. It pairs perfectly with Areaware’s Alphabet Blocks designed by Pat Kim.
The closet became a change station. Some discrete wall shelves were installed to the right for Jack’s clothes, within arms reach from the change table. By removing the closet doors and trims, this became an extension of the nursery rather than a separate space.
Carrie found this change table and with a few adjustments and the addition of some Through The Wood Knobs from Anthropologie, it was made into a cute, but not too cute, changing table for Jack. Cushions: Areaware Fauna Pug and Fauna Pico Squirrel cushions designed by Ross Menuez.
We love a good nursery design and nothing completes one better than a Gus* Modern Sparrow Glider! The Sparrow Glider is a clean-lined chair designed for the modern nursery. The Sparrow features a smooth, quiet rocking motion, and ergonomic proportions for comfortable neck support and arm position. This chair will transition beautifully from nursery to living room. The Sparrow Ottoman (sold separately) also features a smooth, quiet rocking motion. The chair includes a matching lumbar cushion. Constructed with 100% FSC®-Certified Wood in support of responsible forest management.
