Judith Mackin is a Saint John-based entrepreneur and a dedicated patron of the arts.

About Judith:

PUNCH PRODUCTIONS INC: 2000 – to present:

In 2000, Judith founded PUNCH Productions, a multi–faceted company specializing in marketing, branding, public relations, design, and event planning.

TUCK INTERIORS – 2008 – to present:

In 2008, PUNCH expanded to include the interior design firm, TUCK INTERIORS. Her own homes, along with client projects, been featured on HGTV, the Globe and Mail, and made the covers of East Coast Living Magazine, thrice. As an extension of, and complement to, Tuck Interiors, Judith along with her husband Robert Moore built a contemporary house on 2.3 acres in the heart of the city’s heritage district. This project, INTO THE WILD, was featured in a four-part print documentary in the prestigious quarterly International Architecture & Design and most recently, in Playboy Magazine.

TUCK STUDIO – 2012 –to present:

Located on the zero level of this uber-contemporary home was the early roots of TUCK: a design studio which features the very best in emerging and established design in furnishings and decor. Tuck has been recognized in the Globe and Mail and also Chatelaine Magazine. In April 2016, Judith moved her studio from her home and expanded Tuck into the downtown core of Saint John.   Both her Interior Design Firm, Tuck Interiors and TUCK (the store!) are open full time hours now on 122 Prince William Street!

FREELANCE JOURNALIST:

In addition to running three companies, Judith is also a freelance journalist who has written extensively for HGTV as well as written a bi-weekly interior design column for “Salon” the provincial newspaper’s art section in the Telegraph-Journal entitled “Design Driven.”

CBC NATIONAL RADIO HOST / PRODUCER – 2008:

In 2008, she co-produced and hosted “Alien Nation,” an award-winning, 10-week national CBC radio-documentary on youth and the struggles involved in raising teens which ran on NPR, CBC National and Sirius Satellite.

Judith also co-produced a CBC documentary on artist Fred Ross, “Against the Dying of the Light,” which aired on Michael Enright’s CBC’s Sunday Edition.

CO-FOUNDER / PUBLISHIER HERE NEWSPAPER – 2000- 2004:

An early journalistic endeavour she is particularly proud of was co-founding [here] newspaper in 2000, an urban weekly for New Brunswickers.

CO-FOUNDER ARTIST RUN CENTRES:

The Space – A co-op Gallery 1997 – 2000

Third Space Gallery/ Tiers Espace 2005 – present

Judith’s entrepreneurial spirit has motivated her to co-found and establish two non-profit artist-run-centre galleries, The Space – A Co-op Gallery (1997-2000) and Third Space Gallery/Tiers Espace (2005-2009)

The galleries, co-founded with Chris Lloyd, were/are both committed to representing local, regional, national and international artists.

HAPPINEZ WINE BAR: 2005

Judith co-founded the multi-award-winning wine bar that is widely recognized as the best in Atlantic Canada; Judith was instrumental in the branding, marketing and interior design of happinez.

HOPSCOTCH WHISKY BAR: 2016

Judith’s latest project ‘HopScotch’ Saint John’s first Whisky bar opened this fall with partners/clients Holly & Ken Singh. Judith is a silent partner.

EXPANSIONS: 2016

Tuck Interiors is set to expand into the lower level of Historica’s (Bustin’s Building) in early October 2016.

Judith shares her life with Robert Moore, a professor, actor, and poet. Moore just released his fifth book of poetry, ‘Based on Actual Events’.
